Summary:

Do you have proven experience in business development within the I&C ICP/IDNO space? We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join a leading utilities provider, to be accountable for building and managing a sustainable and profitable client and project pipeline, ensure that all proposals are submitted within agreed timeframes, and lead opportunity development, tendering activities, and customer negotiation processes. To be successful in this role, you will need at least 3 years’ experience in Business Development or a similar sales positions, experience within the utilities industry, demonstrable knowledge of sales and marketing techniques and Sales and Tender management experience. if this role sounds like a good fit for you, apply today!  

Key responsibilities:

  • Generate and manage of a substantiated self-discovered opportunity pipeline
  • Ensure that monthly targets are not only met but exceeded
  • Ensure that all proposals are prepared and submitted within agreed timeframes
  • Ensuring that all proposals are followed through to conversion
  • Provide detailed win and loss analysis on all projects
  • Lead opportunity development, tendering activities, and customer negotiation process
  • Create and maintain lasting relationships with key individuals
  • Understand customer drivers and ensure that they are incorporated into proposed solutions
  • Provide sales reports and feedback to strengthen the wider group offering
  • Make recommendations and demonstrate knowledge and capability to stakeholders
 

Skills and experience required: 

  • Experience in similar industry environments within the utilities industry
  • 3+ years’ experience in Business Development or Sales positions
  • Experience within a Project Management-focused environment
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Sales and Marketing techniques
  • Sales and Tender management
  • Experience of delivering site works in DNO, IDNO, Commercial & Industrial environments
  • Using clear, concise, and inspiring communication to internal & external stakeholders.
