Do you have 3+ years’ experience of selling energy procurement and energy management products and services to mid-market and I&C UK clients? The Business Development Manager is a pivotal role to deliver new clients and, once established, maximise cross and upsell opportunities. This is an interesting business model, with the Business Development Manager winning new business, and then managing that client, reaping the rewards of annually building commission year on year. So, if you have experience with B2B energy sales in the UK, and want to maximise your income, then the Business Development Manager could be the role you are looking for!!!Core Responsibilities
- To self-generate a book of new business in the mid-market and I&C sector to help deliver the team’s sales plan and annual gross margin targets via our suite of consulting, sustainability and proprietary technology services
- To generate your own leads through networking, prospecting and developing strategic referral relationships
- Implement lean processes and procedures to improve the sale lifecycle
- Sales forecasting, growth plans, and weekly/monthly management information
- Be the relationship conduit between the company and your clients
- Direct the global/regional purchasing strategy for your existing clients
- Be responsible for the commercial activity between the company and your existing clients
- Coordinate the onboarding process for new clients with our operational teams
- Coordinate and attend bi-weekly client risk management calls
- Manage/coordinate supply contract renewal processes – including recommendations
- Provide in timely fashion QRM meeting agenda, then chairing the activity
- Coordinate internal reviews to ensure client's scope of service is being correctly delivered
- Hold responsibility for the renewal of existing SLA arrangements with the client base
- Ensure all cross and upsell opportunities are sourced and sold
- Monitor client fee payment is adhered to
- Maintain internal accounting systems (CRM etc)
Key Skills and Experience
- A minimum of 3 years working in the UK energy space – Essential
- A minimum of 2 year's in business development within mid-market and I&C – Essential
- An in-depth understanding of risk management strategies – Highly Desirable
- Excellent presentation skills – Essential
- A confident presenter – Essential
- Strong proposal writing skills – Essential
- Energy procurement experience – Essential
