Summary:

Our client, a market-leading energy management consultancy, is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to drive revenue growth and strengthen key client relationships. In this sales-focused role, you will secure high-value contracts, develop commercial strategies and may have the opportunity to manage a small commercial team. The primary focus is on identifying and pursuing opportunities to grow the business across the energy sector while maintaining strong, long-term client partnerships. While experience managing a team is desirable, it is not essential, what matters most are strong sales skills and a proven track record of winning major contracts. Key responsibilities:

  • Driving revenue growth by identifying and winning new business opportunities
  • Securing high-value commercial contracts and managing negotiations
  • Leading a small commercial team, supporting and developing them to perform at their best
  • Building and maintaining strong, long-term relationships with key clients and stakeholders
  • Working closely with internal teams to shape commercial strategy
  • Using market insights and data to inform decisions and spot opportunities for growth
  • Representing the company at client meetings and industry events when required

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as a Senior BDM or Commercial Manager in the energy sector
  • Experience of securing high-value contracts and driving revenue growth
  • Experience managing a small team is desirable
  • Ability to coach, inspire, and support the development of team members
  • Solid commercial awareness and understanding of market trends
  • Excellent negotiation and stakeholder management skills
  • Comfortable interpreting data to make informed commercial decisions
  • Confident using Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and CRM systems
  • Willingness to travel to Manchester as needed
