Role purpose
A leading energy supplier are looking for a Customer Insight Analyst to define and execute a Customer Insights strategy that delivers commercial value by supporting strategic decision making, product innovation and proposition development. The Customer Insight Analyst will source, interpret, and present actionable insights to demonstrate customer needs, market/industry trends, and competitor analysis. You will proactively identify opportunities and potential threats that the business can respond to and drive additional value. - Develop and maintain a strategic view of current and future market trends
- Develop a Customer Insights strategy that identifies different stakeholders’ needs for customer and competitor insight to solve business challenges
- Identify the most appropriate sources for customer, competitor, and market/industry insight
- Interpret and analyse internal and external qualitative and quantitative data, drawing conclusions about customer needs, broker needs, and the strategies and performance of our competitors
- Analyse market data from Ofgem, Cornwall Insights and other publicly available data to identify trends and produce regular market reports
- Work in conjunction with other members of the team to add internal portfolio analysis to enrich external insights and identified trends
- Share information and insights across the business, in formats suitable for the audience
- Identify opportunities for, and lead on, customer research activity, working with business stakeholders and external parties
- Manage relationships with insight-related third parties
- Present information and insights at adhoc and regular meetings to a range of stakeholders
- Operate within agreed budgets, optimising ROI and maintaining records for all spend incurred
Experience required
- Proven track record within B2B markets, with energy retail and commercial market experience desirable
- Possess a natural inquisitiveness to explore deeper customer motivations and competitor strategies
- Strong numerical, analytical skills and attention to detail, including a good statistical methodology and presentation of key findings
- Ability to interpret qualitative and quantitative data from a range of sources both internal & external and collate into concise meaningful insights and conclusions.
- Ability to present effectively to different stakeholders from frontline colleagues to senior leaders and external parties,
- Ability to understand wider business strategies, and the commercial advantages and disadvantages of various products / propositions / customer experiences
- Experience of customer research events as a client or researcher
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, Powerpoint, Excel and preferably SQL
