Summary:

We are looking for a Legal Recovery & Collection Advisor to join a leading energy supplier, assisting the Head of Operations and Head of Credit Controller. In this role you will be responsible for managing the legal recovery and collection processes, including ongoing active credit and company status monitoring, insolvencies, and liquidated companies, ensuring timely and efficient resolutions. To be successful in this role you will need a minimum of 3 years of experience in a legal recovery and collection’s role and have a strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to debt collection. Energy or Utility industry experience is desirable. Apply today!  

Key responsibilities:

  • Review and manage customer accounts in compliance with policies and procedures
  • Work with customers to establish payment plans and negotiate settlements
  • Work with solicitors to manage legal proceedings
  • Manage insolvency and liquidated company cases
  • Conduct ongoing active credit and company status monitoring to identify and mitigate risk
  • Review and respond to legal correspondence and court orders
  • Work with Third parties warrant officer/MOP to manage the isolation diary
  • Ensure compliance with all legal requirements
  • Support the wider Credit Control team day to day where necessary
 

Skills and experience required: 

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal recovery and collections role or a similar role
  • Energy experience desired
  • Strong knowledge of legal and regulatory requirements related to debt collection in the UK,
  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, solicitors, and collection agencies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
