Summary:

Are you an experienced MU Estimating/Design Engineer seeking a new opportunity to showcase your expertise? We are looking for a MU Estimating/Design Engineer to join a company who work on domestic, commercial, and industrial projects up to 33KV. In this role you will be responsible for creating outlines and detailed designs for tendering purposes, review external design aspects to ensure they align with project objectives, offer comprehensive design, and evaluate project feasibility. To be successful in this role you will need, a suitable engineering qualification , minimum of 3 years' experience in a relevant engineering field, expertise in designing and planning electrical utility infrastructure, along with a deep understanding of technical specifications, industry standards, and regulations .You will require a full clean UK Driving licence further complements their qualifications. Key responsibilities:

  • Undertaking outline designs for tendering purposes
  • Developing detailed designs for various developments, including domestic, commercial, and industrial projects up to 33KV
  • Offering technical support to the business development and construction departments
  • Reviewing external design elements to ensure alignment with project goals
  • Providing comprehensive design support to business development, construction teams, and clients
  • Assessing project enquiries to determine feasibility for tendering
  • Identifying and defining the scope of works for each project
  • Proposing effective solutions while adhering to relevant specifications, such as NERS
  • Estimating project costs based on thorough analysis
  • Preparing submission tender documentation
  • Collaborating with adopting asset owners, such as DNO, IDNO, GT/IGT & Water Networks
  • Participating in audits to maintain company accreditations
 

Skills and experience required:

  • Suitable engineering qualification (Degree/HND or equivalent)
  • Minimum 3 years' experience in Electrical HV/MV/LV Substation Engineering
  • Expertise in designing/planning LV and HV electrical utility infrastructure and substation design14460
  • Familiarity with technical specifications and industry standards
  • Knowledge of DNO/IDNO, GT/IGT & Water networks Specifications, including G81 documents and understanding of the current NERS, WIRS & GIRS
  • Understanding of CDM Regulations and N.R.S.W.A
  • Ability to work proactively, either independently or as part of a team
  • Full clean UK Driving licence
