Summary:

We are looking for a Quantity Surveyor to take responsibility for the successful management of the commercial, financial, and contractual elements of designated projects. You will ensure applications and valuations are completed, ensure sub-contractors are procured in line with contractual obligations, ensure cost reports are completed on time and that SHEQ policy/strategy are kept to.  You will need, industry experience as a Quantity Surveyor within refurbishment, postgraduate experience within a surveying position, excellent verbal and numerical skills, and be prepared to work within various geographical areas. Key responsibilities:

  • Reconcile cost reports & profit forecasts and assist with pre-start planning and programming
  • Management and control of sub-contract accounts and variation accounts
  • Assist and liaise with the buyers on materials procurement and buying opportunities
  • Develop an understanding of the designated contract, specification and pricing
  • Assist with selecting and management of subcontractors
  • Liaise with the Contract Manager over contractual issues and take action as required
  • Measure progress, submit valuations, submit final accounts and retention release
  • Monitor receipt of payment in a timely manner in accordance with the contracts
  • Completing a monthly cost / valuation report and cash flow for the designated projects
  • Where appropriate, assist with estimates and negotiations for future projects or phases
  • Ensure the company isn’t compromised or disadvantaged by contractual arrangements
  • Maintain and develop professional relationships with the Client
 

Skills and experience required: 

  • Industry experience in the role of a Quantity Surveyor
  • Experience with Refurb
  • Post graduate experience within a surveying position
  • Excellent verbal communication and Numerical skills
  • IT skills – MS Office, Excel, Project, Word etc.
  • Prepared to work within various geographical areas
