We are looking for a Senior Carbon Consultant to lead the delivery of Carbon Management Solutions including carbon advising, GHG inventory report development, inventory management planning, CDP reporting guidance, and other carbon accounting activities. The Senior Carbon Consultant will be required to have a minimum of 5 years’ experience working on climate change issues, preferably within a consulting environment and have strong analytical skills. In this role you will lead client communication and presentations to establish project timelines and expectations while providing high-level carbon expertise, manage internal workload planning, and continuously explore growth opportunities both internally and externally in this highly competitive space. Key Responsibilities

  • Carbon advising, Scope 1 and 2 location-based GHG inventory report development, Scope 2 market-based accounting, Scope 3 accounting, inventory management planning, disclosure reporting guidance (CDP, SASB, GRESB, GRI), and other carbon accounting activities
  • Operational performance of projects to include project planning, reporting, other accounting, or financial
  • Work across global teams to deliver enterprise-level carbon assessments and customised carbon analyses
  • Engage with client regularly to establish project timelines and expectations while providing high-level carbon expertise
  • Work with multiple stakeholders to further integrate carbon into the company’s robust Energy & Sustainability solutions
  • Monitor changes to carbon calculation protocols to provide recommendations on enhancements and best practices applicable to our internal processes and systems
  • Provide expertise on industry specific emission factors and work with multiple stakeholders to maintain a robust carbon management platform
  • Ensure the Carbon Management Solutions team is utilising the most up-to-date carbon accounting methodologies and assist in the advancement of infrastructure used to deliver our services

Skills and experience required

  • Minimum 5 years of experience working on climate change issues
  • Proven technical expertise in GHG quantification and accounting and an understanding of EMEA’s climate change regulations, policies, and actions
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct international, enterprise-level carbon GHG inventories
  • Experience in analysing products (EUA’s) and understanding drivers of the EUETS
  • Skilled in synthesizing qualitative/quantitative data, recognizing patterns and identify non-prescriptive solutions
  • Ability to understand a system/process by examining the linkages and interactions between the components that comprise the entirety of that defined system (Systems Thinking)
  • Bachelor’s degree in Carbon Management, Engineering or Environmental Science is desirable
  • European Language skills preferable
