Our client is looking for a Senior Programme Manager to join their successful water company. The role will be to direct a project team on major improvements to their wastewater treatment works. You'll be accountable for one or more complex projects from inception to completion, and you’ll guide and develop a multi-disciplined team to ensure successful delivery to time, cost, and quality commitments. - Accountability for project lifecycle, governance, compliance, and stakeholder engagement
- Providing solutions to meet the project objectives and preparing a clear business case.
- Developing the best procurement strategy for the programme
- Overseeing the production of the specifications and contract documentation.
- Leading the procurement process to successful contract award.
- Develop strategy for obtaining 3rd-party consents, highlighting programme and project risks
- Liaison with relevant town planning authorities as well as internal and external stakeholders
- Promote and sustain client’s H&S vision throughout the lifecycle of the project
- Ensure timescales/objectives are met, & collaborate with technical & commercial teams
- Managing contractors performance to deliver programme outcomes to time, cost & quality.
- Managing risks, issues and change transparently through effective reporting and escalation.
- Contribute to project-wide continuous improvement and deliver against stretching targets.
- Managing all contract matters to achieve the optimal outcome for the client.
Skills and experience required:Â
- Engineering degree (or similar) and Chartered status
- Post-graduate business of project management qualification
- Broad utility industry and business knowledge
- Prior involvement in delivering major complex projects (up to £100m in value) with a regulated infrastructure environment.
