Our client is looking for a Trading Analyst to join a leading retail energy company. The role will be trading, position management, analysing trading data as well as portfolio management. The ideal candidate must have energy/utility experience as well as experience of managing large data sets and a proven ability to present information effectively. - Delivery of Retail Hedging Strategy and OTC Pricing Policy
- Hedging and balancing the retail portfolios to accommodate customer acquisitions
- Demand forecast changes in accordance with the latest Retail Hedging Strategy.
- Develop and maintain relationships with customer contacts and Third-Party Intermediaries
- Production of daily forward curves based on live market prices
- Maintain forward curve pricing models and create bespoke curves upon request.
- Optimisation of contracts with flexibility to ensure best financial results with minimum risk.
- Ensure timely and accurate handover of positions to the Markets shift team close to delivery.
- Ensure market and customer trades are recorded in systems (DCRM, Endur, DTS, Junifer)
- Monitor wholesale market prices and market fundamentals to influence hedging strategies
- Provide analytical support regarding retail hedging.
- Obtain commodity prices trading on the OTC wholesale market with Group trading entities.
Skills and experience required:Â
- Proven ability to organise and produce work within tight deadlines
- Able to successfully communicate and manage external customers
- Experience of managing large sets of data
- Demonstrated ability to succeed in a complex environment.
- Numerate, analytical and accurate
- Microsoft Office proficient – VBA skills are desirable
