Key responsibilities:
- Execute trades across energy markets (electricity, gas, oil, and renewables) to optimise profits and manage risk
- Develop and implement trading strategies aligned with market conditions, regulations, and business goals
- Monitor real-time market dynamics to seize opportunities and guide trading decisions
- Conduct market research to identify trends, risks, and opportunities, sharing insights across the business
- Analyse supply-demand dynamics, pricing trends, and economic factors impacting energy markets
- Maintain risk management models to mitigate exposure and ensure compliance
- Lead and develop a high-performing, collaborative trading team to meet business growth needs
- Drive process improvements to enhance trading efficiency and operations
- 3–5 years' experience in energy trading, market analysis or a related field
- Skilled in developing and executing trading strategies to optimise profits and manage risk
- Proven ability to identify, manage, and mitigate risks from price volatility and regulatory changes
- Strong knowledge of P&L management, financial forecasting, and pricing analysis
- Proficient in trading platforms, including ETRM systems, Bloomberg and ICE
- Skilled in data analytics tools such as Python, R and Tableau
- Advanced Excel skills are essential
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Engineering or a related discipline
