Key responsibilities of the Business Development Manager:
- Self-generate a book of new business to deliver the team's sales plan and annual gross margin
- Target clients via a suite of consulting, sustainability and technology services they offer
- Generating own leads through cold calling, networking and events, prospecting, and developing strategic referral relationships
- Work alongside our marketing team in supporting their campaigns
- Implement lean processes and procedures to improve the sale lifecycle
- Sales forecasting, grown plans, and weekly/monthly management information
Skills and experience required of the Business Development Manager:
- 3 years B2B sales experience working for an energy consultancy/ brokerage/ supplier
- 360 sales cycle experience from generating own leads to closing contracts
- 1 year in a business development capacity
- Energy procurement, sustainability experience and knowledge
- An in depth understanding of flexible purchasing/risk management strategies
- Excellent Presentation skills
- A confident presenter
- Strong proposal writing skills
