Our client support all farmers by offering the most progressive, transparent and best value procurement practices to help their members save money. This can be anything from Crop Outputs, through fertilizer, livestock and even energy and utilities – which is where we come in.
The challenge
They had been looking for an Energy Procurement Manager for some time, but had had little success. This could well have been because their network in the energy space was limited, so they did a google search for a recruiter with relevant experience and reached out to us.
The solution
Anita reached out to her network, searching for Pricing and Procurement talent. The location was tricky which didn’t help, but she did manage to find two potential candidates. One was from a competitor, the second was ready to take the next step up in their career – they had some solid procurement expertise, but also other transferable skills.
The result
The client interviewed both. They felt the candidate from the competitor wasn’t strong enough, but they could see the potential of the second. Anita worked with the client on the package to make it as attractive as possible for her candidate, additionally making sure there was room for growth for future career development.
She also saved money for her client. Originally, they were prepared to pay up to £65K for this role, but Anita found them this upwardly mobile candidate for only £50K – proving that contrary to popular belief – some recruiters – such as Utility People – find the best value candidates for their clients, not simply the most expensive!!
