One of my favourite TV series is New Amsterdam, it’s an American medical drama television series based on the book Twelve Patients: Life and Death at Bellevue Hospital. Yes, it is a little corny but what attracts me to this series is the Medical Director, Max Goodwin, and not for his looks, but for his ethics. Dr Max steps up to change the status quo and save patients’ lives and heals the system at America’s oldest public hospital. His mantra “How can I help” has sustained this drama over five seasons and resonated with me daily for the last 10 years as Head of Executive Search.
