Appearance is hugely important – initial impressions do count
Always dress smartly – business dress always goes down well
Check out the location – where are you going to park?
Allow plenty of time to get there – don’t be late
Google the company – why bother going to the interview if you know nothing about them?
HAVE SOME INTELLIGENT QUESTIONS TO ASK
What does a typical day in the post involve?
What are the organisation’s short and long-term goals?
What scope is there for career progression?
How does this organisation differ from its competitors?
WHAT THEY WANT TO KNOW ABOUT YOU
Do you have the skills, expertise and experience to do the job?
Are you enthusiastic and interested in working for their business?
Will you fit into the team, culture and company?
WHAT INTERVIEWERS WOULD LIKE TO TELL CANDIDATES BEFORE AN INTERVIEW STARTS
They want to like you… be yourself, remember to smile
They want you to stand out… but not for the wrong reasons
Ask questions about what really matters to you….. but only if those relate to work
At the end they want to know if you want the job… and they will want to know why
