Account Director (Metering/ Data Services)

Summary:

Our client, an established metering/data services and net-zero company, is looking for an Account Director to join their team and manage key supplier relationships. This senior role involves working with high-value, strategic accounts, ensuring supplier satisfaction and identifying growth opportunities. You will oversee the Supplier Account Management team, ensuring exceptional service and long-term partnerships. To succeed, you’ll need at least 5 years of experience in metering/data services or with an energy supplier, experience managing supplier accounts and a proven track record of growing accounts and onboarding new clients  - team management experience would be a plus! Key responsibilities:

• Manage two Strategic Account Managers on a daily basis.
• Serve as the main contact for key suppliers, building strong, long-term relationships.
• Engage regularly with suppliers to understand their needs, challenges, and goals.
• Develop and implement account strategies aligned with supplier objectives.
• Identify opportunities to expand work and maximize mutual value.
• Lead tailored plans for business growth through upselling and cross-selling.
• Oversee contract renewals, renegotiations, and service term discussions.
• Implement strategies to retain suppliers and resolve concerns.
• Provide accurate revenue forecasts and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs).
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices through training.
• Perform other duties as needed to support business goals.

Skills and experience required: 

• At least 5 years’ experience in a metering/data services company or energy supplier.
• Experience managing energy supplier accounts or working with energy suppliers.
• Commercial/sales experience with a focus on upselling and cross-selling services.
• Team management experience is a plus but not essential.
• Strong interpersonal and rapport-building skills.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Proficient in Excel, Word, and Outlook.
