We are looking for a Business Development Executive to join a growing independent energy supplier. You will join a small team and be responsible for generating your own leads and scheduling appointments for their Business Development Managers. This role is perfect for someone with a track record of working for either a supplier or broker and who is passionate about energy and sales, someone who thrives on creativity and innovation to attract new business! Key responsibilities:

  • Generate new opportunities for BDMs with energy consumption up to 50GWh
  • Arrange meetings from both warm and cold leads on behalf of BDMs
  • Manage data sets and maintain CRM data
  • Utilise sales experience & negotiation skills to identify opportunities and overcome objections
  • Maintain strong, long-term relationships with customers and Brokers/TPIs
  • Oversee and coordinate complex tenders from enquiry to deal acceptance
  • Develop pricing and deal structures to optimise propositions and drive growth.
  • Achieve targeted financial growth through retention, upsell, and new sales.
  • Ensure high levels of customer experience and satisfaction.
  • Stay updated on market trends / industry changes, driving innovation and act as industry expert for customers.
  • Prepare regular reports to senior management on account performance and growth.
  • Develop and execute comprehensive account management strategies,
 

Skills and experience required: 

  • Good knowledge and understanding of the UK energy markets
  • Experience in negotiating and selling fixed and flexible energy contracts
  • Strong interpersonal skills, confident, credible, persuasive, and a collaborative team-player
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication
  • Purpose driven and able to work effectively in a busy and complex environment
  • High attention to detail whilst meeting multiple and competing deadlines.
  • Ability to clearly present complex structures and solutions
