We are looking for a Business Development Manager to join an ever growing energy broker.  In this role, you will be identifying short, medium, and long-term business development goals, building key customer relationships, identifying business opportunities whilst maintaining extensive knowledge of current market conditions and ongoing industry changes. To be successful in this role you will need previous business development/ sales experience within an energy broker/ consultancy, a passion for generating growth opportunities, the ability to produce high-quality proposals and presentations, and able to establish effective relationships at all levels. Key responsibilities:

  • Research and build relationships with new clients.
  • Set up meetings between client decision-makers and relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop proposals that speak to client’s needs, concerns, and objectives.
  • Handle objections by clarifying, emphasising agreements, and working through differences to a positive conclusion.
  • Present business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
  • Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
  • Submit weekly reports and ensure data is accurate.
  • Forecast sales targets.
  • Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
  • Work with the marketing team to ensure that prerequisites are fulfilled in a timely manner.
 

Skills and experience required: 

  • Previous experience within the energy industry
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • Ability to produce high-quality proposals and presentations
  • Solid organisation skills and leadership qualities
  • Self-motivated and have the ability to prioritise workload
  • Proactive and target driven
  • Ability to establish effective relationships at all levels
  • Ability to identify potential customer’s needs and challenges
  • Good networking
  • Creativity and ability to think on the spot
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
