Our client, a leading utilities consultancy, is looking for a Business Development Manager to join their growing team.  As the Business Development Manager, you'll be instrumental in driving growth by uncovering new opportunities within the mid-market and Industrial & Commercial sectors. Through networking, cold outreach, and referrals, you’ll build a solid pipeline while fostering strong client relationships and delivering forward-thinking consultancy solutions. Key responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:

  • Identify and pursue new business in commercial, industrial, and SME sectors
  • Build a strong pipeline via networking, cold outreach, and referrals
  • Develop tailored consultancy proposals across energy, water, and telecoms
  • Collaborate with internal teams for smooth client onboarding and delivery
  • Negotiate and close deals aligned with business goals
  • Attend industry events to promote services and boost brand visibility
  • Report on performance, forecasts, and market insights to senior leadership.

Skills and experience required for the Business Development Manager:

  • Proven experience In B2B sales or business development experience, ideally in utilities or energy
  • Strong understanding of utility markets, procurement processes and cost-saving strategies
  • Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
  • Self-driven, target-focused, and able to work independently
  • Skilled in managing multiple client relationships
  • Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
  • Full UK driving license and open to travel
