Key responsibilities for the Business Development Manager:
- Identify and pursue new business in commercial, industrial, and SME sectors
- Build a strong pipeline via networking, cold outreach, and referrals
- Develop tailored consultancy proposals across energy, water, and telecoms
- Collaborate with internal teams for smooth client onboarding and delivery
- Negotiate and close deals aligned with business goals
- Attend industry events to promote services and boost brand visibility
- Report on performance, forecasts, and market insights to senior leadership.
Skills and experience required for the Business Development Manager:
- Proven experience In B2B sales or business development experience, ideally in utilities or energy
- Strong understanding of utility markets, procurement processes and cost-saving strategies
- Strong communication, negotiation and presentation skills
- Self-driven, target-focused, and able to work independently
- Skilled in managing multiple client relationships
- Proficient with CRM systems and Microsoft Office
- Full UK driving license and open to travel
