Are you a strategic Business Development Manager with experience in B2B energy procurement? A well-established, independent B2B energy supplier is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive new business. The ideal candidate will have a strong track record of generating new business opportunities, building a robust sales pipeline, and selling gas and electricity procurement contracts as well as additional energy products and solutions. Key responsibilities:

  • Manage/renew accounts for both electricity and gas corporate customers
  • Identify new business opportunities and markets and build relationships with new customers
  • Coordinate complex tenders to secure contract renewals and favourable terms
  • Develop growth strategies focused on financial gain and customer satisfaction
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery
  • Generate lead, cold call prospective customers and arrange meetings
  • Plan sales campaigns and create a target market sales pipeline
  • Determine pricing and deal structures to optimize propositions and drive growth
  • Collaborate with the Trading Desk team to structure proposals and products
  • Prepare and present reports to senior management on account performance and growth

Skills and Experience required:

  • Strong interpersonal skills: confident, credible, persuasive, and a team player
  • Good knowledge of the UK energy markets
  • Experience in negotiating and selling fixed and flexible energy contracts
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to bring significant value to the business.
  • Excellent written and verbal English communication and analytical skills.
  • Comfortable taking ownership and proposing improvements.
  • Ability to influence internal stakeholders towards strategic goals
  • Ability to clearly present complex structures and solutions
