Summary: Our client is a well-established energy consultancy business with a fantastic reputation within energy procurement and sustainability. As the Business Development Manager, you are accountable for generating new business from prospective customers across the public sector. The role will require strong communication/relationship building skills, from the point of identifying a potential lead, managing the ongoing relationship through to closing the sale & securing contracts. Are you skilled identifying sales opportunities, building a strong pipeline, negotiating, driving business growth within the energy sector? Then APPLY TODAY! Key responsibilities:
  • Covert leads generated by the marketing team.
  • Develop /nurture relationships with senior decision makers and customer representative groups.
  • Arrange and conduct meetings with prospective customers to present their proposition, with regular travel across the UK.
  • Obtain necessary customer data to generate accurate quotations for services and collaborate with their Bid Co-ordinator to submit proposals and tender responses.
  • Manage ongoing customer relationships throughout the sales process to maximize success rates.
  • Maintain detailed records of sales activities and cultivate a robust pipeline of future opportunities across their service spectrum, including their Net Zero Carbon solutions.
   

Skills and experience required:

  • Strong track record of sales to large public sector organisations or I&C - Essential
  • Understanding of Public Sector Procurement - Desirable
  • Energy Industry experience, selling fixed and flex contracts - Essential
  • Experience of building and delivering a pipeline of sales opportunities - Essential
  • Proven track record of delivering against sales targets - Essential
  • Co-ordinate the delivery of industry leading bids and proposals - Essential
  • Able to build rapport quickly and be influential within teams, peers, and stakeholders - Essential
