An exciting opportunity has arisen to work within a growing team providing consultancy services to commercial, industrial, and public sector clients in support of their sustainability goals. You’ll be a key member of a small, dynamic, and multi-skilled team which delivers strategy, analytical and operational services across the energy and climate dimensions of sustainability. Working with customers in the UK and some European markets on diverse projects that include, Net-Zero strategy development, science-based target setting, GHG assessment across all scopes, policy analysis, quantitative analytical and modelling work, voluntary carbon offset market assessment, and general sustainability systems-thinking.

Key responsibilities:

  • Be deeply involved across the whole spectrum of the business area
  • Involved in analytical, technical and policy aspects of project work
  • Building and managing a pipeline of projects
  • Involvement on proposal submission and client / prospect engagement
  • Strategic development and long-term vision of the sustainability consulting team
  • Provide significant input on the design, development and delivery of products and services within the sustainability consulting team
  • Sustainability/energy policy, e.g., across the net-zero landscape, SBTi, CDP etc
  • Technical knowledge,g., carbon foot printing, scope 3 emissions, energy modelling, decarbonisation analysis
  • Report writing,g., client reports, proposals, RFP responses
  • Presentation, e.g., client meetings, presentations, managing client relationships
  • Business development, e.g., ability to create new service offering for clients, develop commercial partnerships

Skills & Experience required:

  • Commercial experience in sustainability, in-house corporate or another relevant organisation
  • Highly numerate with excellent analytical skills (quantitative, qualitative, applied)
  • Proven record of working within teams in delivering large and challenging projects
  • Deep knowledge of energy, climate and sustainability from a commercial, practitioner and academic perspective
  • Experience of client delivery on main reporting frameworks, standards, and initiatives
  • Knowledge of holistic dimensions of sustainability -social, economic, environmental a plus
  • Strong written skills & understanding of policy, market & corporate aspects of sustainability
  • Excellent presentational, report-writing, and data visualisation skills
  • Clear communicator, able to synthesize and distil evidence/analysis into key messages
  • Ideally Masters in sustainability related discipline, with an Analytical bachelor’s degree
