About Lisa
Tell us a bit about yourself.
I’m a Sheffield native from a big, lively family of six. Growing up, we were always outdoors, making memories and mischief! At 19, I moved to Spain, spending 12 years working across Marbella, Lanzarote, Gran Canaria and Mallorca in IT operations within the timeshare industry. After returning to the UK, I transitioned from Executive Assistant roles into my true passion—executive search.
How long have you been with Utility People?
I joined in 2012 to launch the Executive Search division, and it’s been an incredible 13 years. The culture is highly collaborative and supportive, and even as we’ve evolved, our core values have remained strong.
What do you love most about your job?
Engaging with senior leaders, navigating industry shifts and continuously learning. Every day presents new challenges, whether sourcing top-tier talent or expanding into new markets like renewables and infrastructure.
About Your Career & Experience
What does a typical workday look like?
It’s a mix of networking, talent search and relationship management. I speak with 3-4 candidates daily, focusing on executive placements for NED, Chair, CEO and Executive Director roles. Building strong client relationships is key, ensuring we understand and meet their leadership needs. And of course, a bit of admin keeps everything running smoothly!
Most impactful career moment?
Launching Utility People’s Executive Search division was a defining achievement. From day one, it was a success, and working with Linda has been invaluable. Even now, successfully placing senior executives gives me immense pride.
Life Outside of Work
Tell us a little about your personal life.
I’m married to Lee, and we live in Warwickshire with Bob, our bulldog—who definitely runs the house! We’re surrounded by amazing friends and love our close-knit village life.
How do you unwind?
Spending time with friends, long walks with Bob and staying active with Pickleball, swimming, and Reformer Pilates. When it’s time to relax, I enjoy crime dramas and a good boxset binge.

How do you balance work and life?
Organisation is key. I set clear work boundaries and prioritise short breaks to stay focused. Regular exercise, healthy eating and plenty of sleep keep me on top form—I do love my sleep!
What motivates you?
Professionally, I thrive on building relationships and delivering results. Personally, I love traveling and we make sure to take 2-3 holidays a year to recharge.

Knowledge is power. Take time to truly understand your industry—staying informed makes you credible, valuable and ultimately, successful.
