Summary:

  We are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to join a leading gas and electricity connections company. The Business Development Manager will be responsible for delivering on target multi-utilities sales in the M&E channel. You will be selling electrical, gas and water connections as well as up/ cross selling other wider group products including EV charging, metering, energy management services. The successful candidate must have experience working with M&E consultants, have existing M&E relationships and a have good technical understanding of electric / multi-utility connection works for both residential and commercial developments. Key responsibilities:

 
  • Ensure that monthly sales, margin and KPI targets are not only met but exceeded.
  • Generation and management of a self-discovered opportunity pipeline as well closing warm leads
  • Work closely with the estimating and technical solutions team, ensuring all proposals and tender packs are value engineered, submitted within agreed timeframes
  • Ensuring that all proposals are followed through to conversion with detailed feedback.
  • Provide detailed win and loss analysis
  • Lead on M&E tendering activities and customer negotiation.
  • Effectively creating and maintaining lasting relationships with M&E customers
  • Understanding M&E customer drivers and incorporating into the proposed solutions.
   

Skills and experience required: 

Essential
  • Experience working closely with or within M&E sector.
  • 3+ years’ experience in Business Development or Sales positions.
  • A proven background in ICP/UIP/IDNO/IGT/utilities infrastructure.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Sales and Marketing techniques.
  • Sales and Tender management including customer negotiation and commercial risk mitigations.
  Desirable
  • Existing relationships with M&E Consultants
  • Experience within a Project Management-focused environment
  • Experience of delivering site works, civils in DNO, IDNO, Commercial & Industrial
