Our client, a growing digital solutions company, is looking for an experienced BMS Project Manager to help deliver a series of critical upgrades to their clients’ Building Management System (BMS) infrastructure. As a BMS Project Manager, you’ll lead on managing multiple projects, valued between £1–2 million, forming part of a wider 3–4 year rolling programme. As well as driving delivery on time and on budget, you’ll play a key role in shaping and growing the team to support future project demands. This role would suit someone with strong leadership skills, who’s managed projects for public sector or central government clients with a qualification in construction or engineering and feels confident handling contract changes and scope, and budget management.

Key responsibilities for the BMS Project Manager:

  • Work with multiple stakeholders to deliver projects in line with agreed outcomes and policies.
  • Act as the main escalation point for clients and end users, ensuring successful delivery.
  • Ensure project benefits are delivered with the right approvals and assurance in place.
  • Hold team members accountable to deadlines, quality, and safety standards.
  • Set and monitor project controls, tracking progress against key milestones and budgets.
  • Plan and manage project resources to keep everything running smoothly.
  • Oversee project partners and maintain strong relationships at all levels.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.

Skills and experience required for the BMS Project Manager:

  • Experience managing projects for public sector or central government clients
  • Experience in handling contract changes and managing budgets and scope
  • Confident in rolling out and working with standardised project processes
  • A recognised project management qualification (e.g. APM, PRINCE2, or equivalent)
  • A background in construction or engineering, ideally with an NVQ Level 5, HNC/HND or higher
