Summary:

Our client, a forward-thinking engineering company, is seeking a Field Service Engineer to join their team! In this role, you’ll support the business by overseeing all electrical aspects of equipment and performance across various operational sites. As a Field Service Engineer your key responsibilities will include installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical control systems, wiring, and panel systems. This is an ideal role for someone hands-on, with mechanical experience and a basic electrical qualification, who has worked in industrial environments and is eager to take on more responsibility over time and develop into an Operations Coordinator position. Key responsibilities for the Field Service Engineer:

  • Conduct installation, commissioning, maintenance, and troubleshooting of industrial equipment
  • Perform basic electrical wiring, testing, and diagnostics
  • Carry out mechanical servicing, adjustments, and repairs
  • Support project delivery at client sites, including travel on a weekly basis
  • Report field activities and escalate issues to the operations lead as needed
  • Maintain tools, vehicles, and spare parts inventory
  • Build strong working relationships with client site teams

Skills and experience required:

  • Proven experience in an industrial or utilities environment
  • Practical mechanical experience working with a variety of equipment and machinery
  • Basic electrical qualification or certification
  • Ability to read technical diagrams and blueprints
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Comfortable with travel and flexible working conditions - Full UK driving license
